A sermon delivered by the Rev. Frederick Beasley, decrying the practice of dueling as sinful and in violation of Christian teachings. Beasley argues that the practice of dueling violates the commandment "thou shalt not kill". He refutes the claim that dueling is a continuation of medieval traditions of chivalry. According to Beasley, society has grown more civilized in comparison to the Medieval era, and therefore has no need for barbarous practices.
