Description
A few selections from the .PDF of the 1860 Select Senate Committee investigation into John Brown's raid on Harper's Ferry (October 16-18 1859). The entire report stands at 328 pages and includes transcriptions of letters and other forms of communication used as evidence, as well as transcriptions of committee hearings and witness testimony. Of course, being the senior Senator from Virginia, and the attack having taken place in his native state, James Murray Mason was a member of the select committee.
